Aquatic exercise is one of the best ways to have fun and stay healthy throughout your life. Swim laps, take swimming lessons, join a water exercise or simply enjoy time with the family.
Summertime means beach and pool time for many kids and adults. While having fun, the H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre reminds families to put safety first when in or around the water. With this in mind, the H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre offers Y Aquatic Lessons & Y Aquatic Drop-in Programming that teach water safety skills and give kids and adults the chance to explore the many health benefits of swimming.
To increase your membership value, we now offer the following drop-in programs as an included bonus.
Splash Time 6 months – 5 Years
Enjoy time with your little one and build their comfort level in the water by splashing and playing games with our friendly instructors. Learn new games to play in the pool, techniques to prepare your child for swimming lessons and most importantly, just have fun.
Skills & Drills 6+ Years
Build your child’s confidence and motivation as they move through the Y swimming lesson program. Your child can drop in anytime this program is offered to practice and improve the swimming skills required to become a proficient swimmer. Work with one of our professional instructors to master difficult skills causing frustration or just get a jump start on the next set of lessons. It is also perfect if it’s been a while since your child’s last swimming lesson to ensure they are placed in the appropriate level to achieve success.
Youth Streamliners 10+ Years
Does your child have an interest in competitive swimming, or maybe just swimming in general? This non-competitive “competitive swim group” is structured like a swim club without the 5:30am practices and all weekend competitions. Your child will work with a certified coach who will provide swim workouts focusing on building endurance, improving technique and most of all, building confidence in the water. This is the perfect starting point if your child has an interest to join a competitive swim team, wants to prepare for the lifeguarding courses or just enjoys a good workout to stay fit. Must be able to swim 25 meters.
H2O Water Polo 16+ Years
Get an amazing workout while having fun playing a game of Water Polo. Not too many sports will provide you the type of workout a game of Water Polo will. If you like to swim, if you like friendly competition, and you like to have a good time trying to keep your head above water, come and join us for a game or two. We guarantee you’ll sleep good when you get home.
Adult Streamliners 18+ Years
This challenging but non-competitive swim workout program welcomeseveryone from beginners to experts. Work with H2O’s swim coach who willlead you through training sessions geared toward your personal skill leveland experience. This drop-in program does not require pre-registration.Must be able to swim 50 metres comfortably.
Adult Beginner Lessons 18+ Years
This drop-in program is designed for beginner swimmers who cannotswim the length of the pool. We will focus on simple progressions and skilldevelopment while you set your own goals in a relaxed atmosphere.

Over the years, the YMCA has taught the joy of swimming to thousands of children and adults in the Central Okanagan area. We are pleased to offer Y Aquatic Lessons at the H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre. Elements taught include personal safety, skill development, personal growth, water sports/games and rescue.
Parent and Tot 6 – 36 months
Splashers and Bubblers classes will help youand your child to learn through fun water playtogether. Our instructors will orient your childto the water, provide opportunities to explorebuoyancy, movement and build confidence in a safe environment.
Preschool 3 – 5 Years
Bobbers, Floaters, Gliders, Divers,Surfers & DippersOur swimming lesson program delivers funand challenges with no more than five childrenper class. As your child progresses through thepreschool levels they will go from kicking theirfeet at the edge of the pool to swimming 25metres on their front and back.
Learn to Swim 6+ Years
Otter, Seal, Dolphin & SwimmerAs your child moves through our four Learnto Swim levels they will progress from feelingcomfortable in the shallow and deep water toperforming strokes and floats to swimmingfront and back crawl. We strive to create apositive learning environment for your childby incorporating fun, play, exploration, practiceand building on your child’s successes.
Star Levels 6+ Years
In addition to learning new strokes your childor youth will work towards perfecting their frontand back crawl and breast stroke while buildingendurance. As your child progresses through thesix Star Levels they will be introduced to a widevariety of water activities and skills such assynchronized swimming, lifesaving, watersafety, competitive swimming, water polo andleadership skills.Private LessonsAvailable to anyone of any skill level whowants to benefit from personalized one-on-oneswimming instruction.
